This is the first blog for the Sales and Commercial department of Ibell Cowlin and this is also my first blog too!  I’m Gregg Hutt and I am a specialist Sales and Commercial Recruitment Consultant for Ibell Cowlin. First of all, I would like to congratulate my colleague Claire Fincken on her 2 year anniversary with Ibell Cowlin today.

I hope you like the following discussion and if you like what you read, why not add a comment or like it on Facebook...

The recruitment market recently as most of us know has been a challenge to say the least! However news on the horizon appears to be extremely promising.

According to recent reports the number of people being recruited in the UK has risen over the last 12 months and this increase is expected to continue well into 2012. Sales recruitment in the UK is predicted to have a healthy 2011, after new industry data showed that sales job vacancies have seen a 16% increase in the last year.

Sales recruitment in the IT sector showed particularly strong potential, with vacancies showing a 19% year-on-year rise, vacancies for financial sales jobs saw a 6.2% increase since January 2010, while opportunities in the manufacturing industry showed a 1.7% rise. With a recent survey showing that 96% of people working in sales enjoyed their jobs.

Industries that have seen the most significant increase are as follows:

  • Sales
  • IT Sales
  • Marketing
  • Media
  • PR
  • Transport
  • Logistics

The people in the know put this consistent growth down to increased investment and positive expectations leading to the increase in live vacancies. A dip in August due to the holiday season is now behind us and businesses along with Recruiters can strive forward with the improving market.

As the financial situation slowly but surely continues to improve so will employers confidence resulting in recruitment freezes being lifted and newly created positions emerging providing much needed  opportunities for hard working and reliable unemployed professionals out there.
